All the duties under the Births and Deaths

Registration Ordinance 1896 formerly appertaining to the

Registrar-General are now transferred to the Head of the

Sanitary Department as appears by Section 8 of the Ordinance

in question (15 of 1909).

Section 26 of the former Ordinance placed

on the Registrar-General, when required by the Sanitary Board,

the duty of transmitting a return to the Board of such of the

particulars of registration of deaths as the Board may specify.

Such particulars will now by virtue of

the transfer of these duties be in the possession of the Sanitary,

Department 1.e. the Sanitary Board, and the Section (26) there-

-fore became futile and was repealed.
